A Message from GO! Women's Small Group Bible Study:
Good Morning Ladies!
For those of you that have trees in your front or back yard...the leaves are truly beautiful on the tree, but when they fall; well let's just say they don't call it "Fall" just because of the change in season. When the leaves begin to fall, they spread the wealth to everyone! On another note, I hope all of you had an opportunity to blast your music and celebrate. If not, look back at the email from last week and start moving!
This week, I wanted to share with you a segment that I saw on ESPN's "Every Day" a 30 for 30 short by filmmaker Gabe Spitzer. It's a short clip (time 11:31), but powerful. Take a look:
Joy Johnson was know for running the New York City Marathon, but she actually ran about 70 marathons: almost three a year between the ages of 61 and 86. Joy started her day by lacing up her running shoes and reading this verse from Isaiah 40:31:
"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."
After raising four kids, she took up running at 59 and went on to run 25 New York City Marathons, the last in 2013 at age 86.
As I watched the video again this weekend, two independent thoughts became apparent-- the Aha moment. God always has perfect timing.
First, in the short film, Mrs. Joy states the following:
Every day is a new possibility. You never know what the next step will bring.
Second, the following lyric was was my wake up call each morning last week:
You make all thing new and I will follow you Forward.
The "Aha" moment and prayer:
God has given us a new possiblity and opporutnity each day. Keep moving forward and stay focused on Him. The path is not always easy, but keep moving forward, as our strength comes from the Lord. See, Isaiah 40:31
Here's the song Moving Forward.

If you haven't already done so, please register online for our next session starting Tuesday, November 17. We will continue our conversation and study about life in the Holy Spirit in Fruits of the Spirit- Living Beyond Yourself.
Spread the word and invite someone to Session 2!
Remember, each day is an opportunity for us to...
Lead, Serve, GO!
Have a great week and see you next week!

Each day we have an opportunity to be the light and salt God has called us to be to others. Matthew 5:13-16 (NIV)
