I’m so excited to start this new journey with all of you. Are you ready to get started? Let’s jump in!
1. Understanding Where We Are...
Nestled between the Books of Judges and First Samuel is where we will find the Book of Ruth. Set during the period of the judges, take a look at the following verses:
In those days Israel had no king; everyone did as they saw fit.
(Judges 17:6)
In the days when the judges ruled, there was a famine in the land.
(Ruth 1:1)
2. Another Set of Ponderings
As you reflect on the two verses think upon the following words/phrases:
📷“Everyone did as they saw fit” AND “Famine”
Hmmm...ever find that when you are doing as you see fit, you have trouble hearing God? In the days of the judges, general disobedience led to famine. But, in spite of our disobedience and when we go astray, our God graciously, mercifully and lovingly always provides.
3. Our Winter/Spring Session -- Ruth: Loss, Love & Legacy
