Good Morning Princesses!
The Great Story ~ God Knows Your Story
The Patriarchs
2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:2)
1. Every Great Story Needs A Great Author
How many of you love a good story? How many love a great story? I love good stories, but the great ones are the ultimate page-turners filled with facts, questions, twists, turns and "did that just happen!" For the author, he or she has to be able to see the story from start to finish. This season we have been blessed with a tremendous opportunity to sit in the bleachers and watch the stories of Abraham, Issac and Jacob unfold. Thank you, Lord! (Book of Genesis~Chapters 12-33)
In her book, Unshakable Trust, Joyce Meyer, discusses Abraham's faith and his unwavering belief in God's promise. Take a look:
From the promise from God, to a carried belief, and life journey of faith we've seen the pages of Genesis unfold with struggles, love, loss, and hope. While each Patriarch story is compelling, powerful and great we've also been able to learn that each Patriarch had a personal relationship with God. Each knew and believed that God would do what He said He would do.
18 Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” 19 Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead—since he was about a hundred years old—and that Sarah’s womb was also dead. 20 Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, 21 being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. (Romans 4:18-21)
2. A Great Story Continues...
As we close out our Chapter 2019 and God prepares us as we enter into our Chapter 2020, take some time to meditate and pray about the following:
What is my relationship status with God?
Where is God in my story?
For our Patriarchs, the Great I AM became their center. Their life stories were intertwined with His plan for their lives. Their story became great because they came to understand that God was the Author.
Dear Princesses, God knows our stories, like the Patriarchs, God wants our life story to also on a trajectory of greatness. But we must come to understand that our stories cannot and will not be great without God; our Author and Creator. Trust Him. Be fully persuaded that God has all power, is faithful and will do what He has promised.
And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. (Philippians 1:6)
As you begin to think about the start of your Chapter 2020, know that your story:
Can only be great through God;
Is great with God; and
Is already written because of God.
Advent Week 3 ~ JOY
In this season of Advent that is filled with hope and anticipation of Christ's birth, let us be mindful that we are part of the greatest story ever told. As followers of Christ, that story continues with us.
10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. Luke 2:10-11
Oh, princesses of faith...remember
Prayer “empowers and ‘charges up’ every other piece so they can be used effectively against the enemy. Without prayer… your armor, cannot, will not, be infused with the power that only God’s-Spirit can give."
