1. Tomorrow...

I recently heard a song that I hadn't heard for many, many years. Are you familiar with the song, "Tomorrow" by gospel singing family The Winans? The song "Tomorrow" was released in 1984 and won the 1986 Grammy for Best Soul Gospel Performance by a Duo or Group, Choir or Chorus.

In listening to the words of the song, the chorus is memorable:

tomorrow, ill give my life Tomorrow, I thought about today, but it's so much easier to say" Tomorrow, who promised you tomorrow, Better choose the lord today, for Tomorrow very well might be too late.

Jesus' well known and most quoted "Sermon on the Mount" begins in the Gospel of Matthew Chapter 5 and concludes in Matthew Chapter 8:1. The Sermon on the Mount is the longest of the teachings of Jesus in the New Testament and includes the Beatitudes, the Lord's Prayer, and central tenets of Christian discipleship. Three verses from the Sermon on the Mount are foundational verses for GO! and they can be found in Matthew 5:13-16.

Take a look at these verses from the Message adaption. It's pretty direct princesses, so hold onto your crowns!

Salt and Light- (The Message)
13 “Let me tell you why you are here. You’re here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? You’ve lost your usefulness and will end up in the garbage.
14-16 “Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.

2. Tomorrow + Salt and Light = Marching Orders

Sometimes we just need the direct talk, right? It's pretty clear our marching orders. Understanding that tomorrow is not promised to any of us and recognizing that our job is to be "salt and light"; to shine; to show God's love is pretty clear. So dear princesses, there's work to do. We are here, our moment and opportunity is a blessing of love each day. Let's be about our Father's business...Lead, Serve and GO!

Oh, princesses of faith...remember

Prayerempowers and ‘charges up’ every other piece so they can be used effectively against the enemy.  Without prayer…  your armor, cannot, will not, be infused with the power that only God’s-Spirit can give."
