Understanding God's Will ~ A Journey of Faith (Part 2)

The Patriarchs- Week 4 (Recap)

1. Almighty God- We Need You

Last week, the playlist contained a song entitled "The Call" by praise and worship leader/recording artist Isabel Davis. As I listened to the song again in preparation for this week's GO! Report, the following words resonated in my spirit (take a look below):

Almighty God We need You right now Reveal Your glory And pour Your spirit out

The aforementioned four lines carry the whole song. Building stanza by stanza. Asking, praising and ushering in the presence of the Lord. It was in listening to this song and meditating on these words that God in his gracious, loving spirit whispered so gently to me that if we are dear little ones to understand the the will of our Heavenly, Lord Almighty,

We need to surrender;

Surrender it all;

Fall down on our knees and just and surrender;

Let go of the hurt, the disappointment, pain, plans;

Give God full access;

Open our hearts;

Open our hands;

Open our minds;

Ask for more of Him and less of us;

Allow God to have His will;

Invade our space, oh God;

Teach us that we are second and you are first;

Help us to stay lock step with your Holy Spirit;

Fill us Lord, fill us Lord completely.

We NEED you oh Lord- let your glory fall on us.

2. Hebrews 11- The God Who Sees All

Understanding God's will is that we NEED God. Understanding that we want more of Him. It is recognizing, accepting and walking in the full knowledge that we need Him more than He needs us.

For Abraham, Sarah and soon to be Issac, Jacob and so many others mentioned in Hebrews Chapter 11 "Great Examples of Faith" (NLT); "Faith" (ESV); "Faith in Action (NIV); and "Heroes of Faith" (HCSB) they eventually understood the equation. They still speak to us through the Holy Bible. While their journey was not a rose garden each and every moment, what was true is that in spite of it all, they recognized, accepted and walked in full knowledge that they NEEDED God's breath, His presence, they NEEDED God in every part of their life. They understand that their life was not their own. It was God's. It was already foretold, they just needed to get to where God needed them to be for their path and understanding to all fall into place to accomplish His will while on this earth. For their faith to be evidenced into action. Hmm... I guess God is waiting for us to catch up too! So thankful for His patience and everlasting love. He's God, our Alpha, Omega. He Sees Us, He Loves Us. Thank you Lord for revealing your glory to us. We NEED You. (1 John 3:20;

1 John 4:4; and John 3:30)

1 Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see. 2 Through their faith, the people in days of old earned a good reputation.

3 By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen. (Hebrews 11:1-3 NLT)

Oh, princesses of faith...remember

Prayer “empowers and ‘charges up’ every other piece so they can be used effectively against the enemy. Without prayer… your armor, cannot, will not, be infused with the power that only God’s-Spirit can give."
